Product Description
Propylene glycol mixes well with water (dissolution occurs with the release of heat). It also mixes well with diethyl ether, ethylene chlorhydrin, chloroform, white spirit, acetone and many other organic solvents.
Dissolution with benzene is limited.
Propylene glycol dissolves hydrophilic and hydrophobic substances well, so substances that otherwise would not mix can be mixed.
Propylene is a good solvent for most low molecular weight oxygen- and nitrogen-containing organic compounds, such as monobasic alcohols, ethylene glycols and their ethers, organic acids, aldehydes and ketones, additive ethers, amines, and other nitrogen-containing substances.
